Eleanor Barry

Eleanor Barry is a retired Senior Education Adviser with more than thirty years’ experience of working in the education sector as a teacher, deputy headteacher and headteacher in and with primary and secondary schools in the Catholic and the State sector. She has been a headteacher of two primary schools, one a small and the other a larger than average size. She has been pro-active in successfully managing change within schools and the Local Authority.

She was a Lead Headteacher in a working group developing substantial partnerships with private sector businesses and schools when collaboratively innovating the very successful Education Action Zone in Coventry. She has also worked in partnership with University of Warwick on developing Shared Teacher Training Programmes.

As a School Improvement Adviser and a trained Ofsted Inspector Eleanor has worked with a range of schools supporting them in bringing about school improvement.

She has developed and delivered Leadership and Management Programmes with the National College of School Leadership.

She is currently Chair of the Local Academy Committee at St Patrick Catholic Primary School which has been judged as good in its most recent Ofsted Inspection.
